Who we are:
We have chosen to remain a non-political site for two basic reasons:
1) We recognize that all political parties as well as corporate, union and environmental interests have had roles to play in
the demise of America’s manufacturing base, and that we will need the help of all to reverse the bleeding of American
jobs.
2) We wish to maintain our focus on the single issue of out-sourcing. Allowing politics to influence this site would so
cloud our our mission and objectives as to make them impossible to acheive.
The role of corporations in StopOutsourcing's agenda:
We believe that:
- the majority of American companies have only reluctantly resorted to outsourcing as their last means of surviving
in increasingly hostile and unbalanced global and domestic business environments. (To believe otherwise would be to
believe that corporate America has found it to be in their interest to needlessly walk away from hundreds of billions of
dollars in private domestic investment.)
- given the opportunity, these same companies would become the strongest of advocates for returning jobs to the
American marketplace.
- by their very nature, corporate America must be looked to as the authorities on what changes are needed to rebuild
American jobs. They have the knowledge of their marketplace (the politicians do not), and any solution imposed on them
without their support will fail.
For this reason we are going beyond simply seeking the sponsorship of corporate America for our legislative goals. We will continue to recruit corporations who support our primary objective (of applying a formula based system to determine a mininum ratio of domestic to international hiring) to take leadership roles in crafting legislation that will allow them to succeed on both the domestic and global stages.
Our target:
United States Legislators. For years these officials have ignored the interests of the American people, choosing instead to allow non-voting interests, to buy their way into places of power that they have no constitutional right to occupy. We will either force these politicians to uphold their obligations or expel them from office.
Executive Compensation:
StopOutsourcing.org's Treasurer, John Bowman, is currently donating his time to organize this effort. His responsibilities and compensation will be reevaluated in concert with other needs if distribution of window stickers exceed 10,000 per month.
